For years, South Carolina's state employees have accomplished extraordinary achievements day in and day out. Why? Because of their love for our state and their pride in serving South Carolina.

This excellence continues today among the ranks of more than 60,000 dedicated public servants across the state.

Now, the Blue Granite Recognition seeks to identify state employees who, through professional insight, substantial initiative and unyielding persistence, have accomplished extraordinary results for the citizens of South Carolina.

In your day-to-day dealings with state government, you likely have run across an employee or a group of individuals who have done more than required -- done more beyond what is in their job description -- to achieve great things for the state.
